“I have a Dream” Speech – Dreams

I am teaching analysis of U.S documents with historical significance, and I want to focus on the theme of dreams by looking at the primary document, Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream…” speech. The unit could be framed by the Harriet Tubman conversation on dreams and her quote that says “Every great dream begins with a dreamer.” What dreams in the speech are possible or impossible and how much does it matter whether dreams are realistic?
