The Wright Brothers invention of the Airplane provides a great opportunity for students to explore the theme of imagination. Albert Einstein’s quote, “The person with dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts,” can be used during a lesson that looks at the things the Wright Brothers had to try and fail before they were able to accomplish true controlled flight. When you are inventing something you have to navigate continuing towards the dream in the absence of all the facts. For an informative guide on the history of the airplane, here is a great resource.
